Agromek 2026 – how to get real value from Northern Europe’s largest agricultural exhibition

Agromek is the largest and most important agricultural trade fair in the Nordic region and is held at MCH – Messecenter Herning.
The next edition, Agromek 2026, will take place from 24–27 November 2026.

Agromek is not a trade fair you simply “take part in.” It is a fair where the outcome is determined long before the doors open. By the decisions made early on. By what you choose to prioritise — and what you choose to leave out. And by whether the stand is designed as a practical working tool, or merely as a physical presence.

At Scanex, we approach Agromek as a project. Not as a one-off delivery.

What makes Agromek different from other trade fairs?

Agromek differs from many other trade fairs in both scale and complexity. The event features large machinery, heavy installations, strict technical requirements, and an audience that knows exactly what it wants to see. Visitors move through the venue with purpose, often following a clear plan for which halls and suppliers they intend to visit.

This means that visibility at Agromek is not about chance. You are not “discovered” by being in the wrong place with the right product. Context, hall placement and clarity matter more here than at most other trade fairs.

Why planning for Agromek 2026 should start now

Even though Agromek 2026 takes place at the end of November, postponing the planning until late summer is a common mistake.

First, the most attractive placements and hall areas are allocated early. Once the hall layout starts to fill up, the available options are significantly reduced, and there is a real risk of ending up in a context that does not support either the product or the target audience.

Second, many Agromek stands are technically demanding. Large machinery, specific floor load requirements, power supply, compressed air, rigging, AV solutions and access conditions all need to be considered from the outset. This requires time and coordination — not last-minute firefighting.

Finally, early planning is also a matter of cost control. When design, technical solutions and production are aligned from the beginning, there are fewer rushed decisions and far fewer expensive compromises close to the event.

Typical hall themes at Agromek – a general overview

Agromek is structured into thematic areas, where exhibitors are placed according to the type of solution they offer. The exact hall layout may vary from year to year, but the underlying themes remain consistent.

Machinery and heavy solutions
This area brings together manufacturers and suppliers of large agricultural machinery, implements and mechanical solutions. The halls are characterised by high ceilings, wide aisles and a strong focus on physical product experience. Visitors expect to see machinery at full scale and in operation.

Livestock housing, equipment and feeding
This area covers solutions for livestock housing, feeding systems, equipment and animal welfare. Visitors typically arrive with very specific needs and compare solutions directly across suppliers.

Technology, automation and digitalisation
Here you will find software, sensors, control systems, data-driven solutions and automation technologies. Dialogue and explanation play a greater role than physical scale, and stands are often more compact and conversation-focused.

Energy, climate and sustainability
Solutions related to energy optimisation, biogas, climate impact and resource efficiency are usually grouped into dedicated areas. Visitors tend to focus on holistic solutions, documentation and long-term investments.

Knowledge, advisory services and support
Organisations, consultants, education providers, financing and service companies are grouped together, allowing visitors to gain a broad overview and engage with multiple stakeholders within the same field.

Scanex’ experience is that the outcome of Agromek rarely depends on which hall you would prefer to be in, but on whether you are placed in the right thematic context. When visitors meet you where they expect to find your type of solution, dialogue becomes both easier and more meaningful.

An Agromek stand must be functional — not just visually appealing

A stand at Agromek must function in practice. High visitor numbers. Long days. Professional conversations. Often with several people around the stand at the same time.

This places clear demands on layout, flow and prioritisation. Many stands do not fail because of poor design, but because of poor functionality. Common challenges include too little space for conversation, too many messages and insufficient clarity from a distance.

At Agromek, clarity is rewarded. Visitors should be able to quickly understand what the company offers and whether it is relevant to them. Design should support the brand — but it must never get in the way of dialogue.

Practical considerations at MCH that are often underestimated

Herning Messecenter (MCH) is professional and well run — but also uncompromising. Deadlines for technical orders are fixed. Time slots for build-up and dismantling are tight. Requirements for construction, fire safety and rigging are strictly enforced.

This means that a single overlooked detail can quickly affect the entire stand. As a result, many exhibitors choose to centralise responsibility and coordination, ensuring that technical solutions, design, production and scheduling are aligned from start to finish.

Accommodation during Agromek — a key practical consideration

During Agromek, accommodation capacity in Herning is under heavy pressure. Hotels are booked quickly, and prices rise significantly the closer the event gets.

Hotels such as Best Western Plus Hotel Eyde, Hotel DGI-Huset Herning and Scandic Regina are popular choices among exhibitors, but they all share one thing in common: they need to be booked well in advance.

Scanex’ experience is that logistics around accommodation, transport and staffing have a greater impact on the overall trade fair experience than many expect. When the team stays together and operates within clear frameworks, the days run more smoothly — allowing energy to be focused on what truly matters.

Agromek 2026 requires deliberate choices

Agromek is not a standard trade fair, and it does not reward standard solutions. The companies that gain the most from the event have made clear decisions about objectives, placement and priorities — and have started planning well in advance.

At Scanex, this is exactly where we add value: by creating clarity, structure and calm throughout the process, so the trade fair becomes a business tool rather than a source of stress.

It begins with the decisions made now.

Agromek FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Agromek 2026

One final consideration for Agromek 2026

Agromek 2026 does not reward those who react quickly in October. It rewards those who make the right decisions well in advance.

For most companies, the trade fair represents a significant investment — in time, resources and focus. That is why it makes sense to view Agromek as a project that needs to be managed, prioritised and thought through from start to finish.

At Scanex, this is exactly how we work: by creating overview and calm throughout the process. Not by making things more complex, but by ensuring that the many decisions are aligned — from placement and stand design to technical solutions, logistics and on-site execution.

Agromek does not start when the doors open in Herning.
It starts with the decisions you make now.
